Do you ever feel like your work becomes an extension of who you are? For me, it’s always been like that. But the magic happens when clients trust you enough to hand over the reins and say, "Take it from here." That’s when I step into my element.
In my experience—working with companies around the globe, from advertising to education to IT—I’ve built lasting relationships. Clients have always appreciated that I don’t just design; I lead. They feel comfortable knowing I’ll guide the product to where it needs to be, creatively and strategically. I’ve been fortunate to have their complete confidence, allowing me the freedom to bring fresh perspectives and innovation, without the heavy-handedness that sometimes comes with creative control.
Now, here's the interesting bit—whether I’m collaborating with an engineering team, sitting in with testers, or discussing architecture with the tech leads, I’ve always managed to gel. People tell me it’s because I don’t just bring design to the table, I bring understanding. I’m not just solving for the user; I’m solving for the team, for the company, for everyone invested in the product. That’s empathy, not just for the user, but for the people behind the scenes making it happen.
Oh, and let’s not forget about the CXOs—the ones who have the final say in everything. Somehow, in the large organizations I’ve worked with, I always end up being their go-to guy when they want someone they can trust. It’s not just about UX anymore. It’s about transformation, about how design can drive change not just in products but in organizations. Big stuff, right?
And of course, I mentor. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of guiding some amazing designers. The kind of designers who’ve told me that working with me was among the best times of their careers. I still smile when I think of that. It’s one thing to lead; it’s another to inspire.
Oh, and did I mention I run an award-winning photoblog? Yeah, I manage to squeeze that in too. It's my creative outlet, where I get to play with light, shadows, and angles. It’s these little things that keep the creative spark alive, outside of all the boardrooms and presentations.
The journey’s been long, but I’m not done yet. There's always a new challenge, a new project, and I’m here for it.
